Pridiom is proud to present our newest innovation: Pridiom’s Aqua-Khrome. Aqua-Khrome is a specially designed coating for our indoor and outdoor coils. The use of Aqua-Khrome greatly extends the life of these coils by reducing corrosion, improves operating efficiency, extends the life of the units, and most importantly provides a healthful environment.
Aqua-Khrome is available in two versions: Aqua-Khrome Blue and Aqua-Khrome Gold. Both versions incorporate hydrophilic properties that wick away water from both the indoor and outdoor units. This can help eliminate the potential growth of mold, mildew, and other toxic life forms that readily grow on indoor coils.

Aqua-Khrome, Pridiom’s coating for the aluminum fins on both the indoor and outdoor unit was specifically designed as a hydrophilic coating. This allows for the water that is created through condensation on the fins of both the indoor and outdoor units to drip away from the fins rather than adhere to the fins through surface tension, i.e. water tension. By dripping away, 3 things are achieved:
- Water is removed so that it does not block air flow through the very small areas between the fins. This helps to keep the unit running efficient and can extend
- Removal of the water, which is essential deionized water and extremely corrosive, helps to prevent corrosion, and
- By removing the water, the opportunity for mold, mildew, other fungi, and bacteria to grow is greatly minimized as these life forms need and desire moist environments, and 4) Extends the life of the equipment due to the fact that reduced air flow adds strain to the equipment.
Aqua-Krome Gold is a hydrophilic coating allowing condensate to release surface tension and drip away. This helps eliminate the opportunity for mold, mildew, other fungi, and bacteria to grow.
